Millie's Ice Cream & Sandwiches

Bob and Lorrie Simon made their yearly visit to Millie’s today. Every year they visit on October 14th to celebrate their first date in 1995.

Oak Lawn’s 2nd annual Pumpkin Fest was a great success this year. New to the Fest this year was a spinning apple ride and a jumper for the kids.

Everyone here at Millie’s would like to thank all of the great people who responded to the recent Southtown Star article about us.

Due to a continuous decline in business, we have no choice but to take drastic measures to cut costs. We do this with the overall best interest of the business in mind.

Our long awaited corned beef and Reubens are back but they won’t last forever. Come in now and get yours while you can. March specials are over.

On Sunday, April 25th, Millie’s closed it’s doors. In the few days since, family and friends have come to us insisting we re-open with their help. So, from them we have secured enough funds to make a second go. We are however, based on input from said family, friends and an independent consultant, going to change several things:

• To get away from the image of only being an ice cream parlor, we are going to re-name the restaurant.
• We are changing the format to counter service (No more waiting for a waitress).
• We are tweaking the menu. It’s an all new restaurant. Not all of Millie’s menu items will be available. No more 21 questions.
• We are getting a new line of amazing ice cream.

Our goal for opening is the last week of May. We will announce the exact opening day so, stay tuned. We can’t wait to see you all again!
